Hiya, just looking for a 3t-gt distributor cap with the contacts in decent condition, mine are a little corroded. Saw someone picked one up just recently but I'm hoping there may be another laying around somewhere. Cheers, Chris.

Mate you can buy them new from Toyota in Australia. @ $50! Why bother with a s/h item 
I got mine through Stewart Wilkins Rally.

Really!? I guess that I'd kind of given up on Toyota selling anything off the shelf for it, usually just get a blank look - "imported engine, no chance mate...". I guess though that might have been because I was looking for turbo specific stuff for it, I can't remember. So it's just the same cap as for the general 3t engine? Do you have contact details for this Stewart Wilkins rally, just in case I have any trouble going through my local Toyota? I'd say it shouldn't be a problem but you never know. Thanks heaps for that Joel, made my day Chris.

Yeah I know the feeling of trying to purchase import engine parts through Toyota!
It is different from the other 3t engines as they were not twin-spark.
Maybe best option is to contact Stewart as he knows the part number so he can get it from toyota. He takes CC orders over the phone and sends stuff out to you. Very reliable from past experiences.
give him a call on
(02) 4577-2400
he should be able to get all your 3t-gte bits including gaskets/timing gear etc.

3tgte dizzy cap is different!!!
it has two levels of points for the twin spark

I had a new one but one of the contacts broke off inside ...dont understand why tho ...so i put the old one back in.
