hey do those K and N panel filters really do anything ? or make that much of a difference to warrant the price, eg is it worth the money ?

I owned a 162 before I bought the red beast and I must say that there is much improved performance from the K&N pod (cone shape) filter over the panel. It also produces a beautiful induction note.
A pod filter won't fit to a stock system though, it will hit the wheel well. What you need to do is buy an adaptor with a bend in it, to change the angle of the pod so far that it doesnt hit the wheel well. Remove the stock airbox completely, but leave the air feeder pipe. After much experimentation, I found this to be the most effective method for boosting performance through induction.
