Help!! The engine warning light is displaying on my st162 '89

It comes on after a few minutes of driving and only seems to be on highways etc. it has recently had a rebuild. new pistons, bearings etc, so i know it cant be them. what could it be? and how do i fix it?

i presume you mean the diagnosis light (small engine)
if so find diagnosis box and bridge terminals TE and E1
the light will flash out the codes in the ecu memory
list them on this and ill tell u wot they are
