car importer/compliancer $25 they have the ones that holden and ford use.
wrecking yard destroy one from another car
both options may need you to weld them into place

Thatnks rob.
I suppose i should have been more clear.
I wanted to try and buy an off the shelf type to weld in, not go chasing one at the f*ckers, sorry i mean wreckers.

yeah off the shelf one will be at an importer/compliancer
they use the same ones as ford and holden do but they arent pressed into the filler neck
$25
u can also steal a holen/ford fuel cap and use it in conjunction with these ones cause they have a thread in them wich makes it easier to attach cause u dont have to weld it half way down your filler tube.

Skip, talk to your engineer. The requirement for an unleaded filler neck, has been made redundant, by the withdrawal of leaded fuel from the Australian market.
Even though the legislation has not been ammended, most engineerrs over this side of the country, now only insist on an "unleaded fuel only" sticker.
cheers Chuck.

my engineer wanted a filler restriction in my aw11 when i asked him about the fact you cant get leaded fuel he said its still in the rules so i still has to be done..
the commodores use a really simple system.. their neck if about a foot long then has a piece of hose with a clamp that goes to the rest of the system. just goto the wreckers and you can get them for about half of stuff all. then just adpot it to your current system the way the commodore does.. hose and clamp. thats what ive done and it works a treat.

yep with Toof on this one we did exactly the same thing to a Sigma. cut neck of commodore filler from a VN commodore and appropriate hose and clamp, cut filler off your car put rubber hose on your car and clamp, put commodore filler on other end of hose and clamp. less than 1 hour work. but you would need to go to the wreckers...although you could run in purchase the product cos i am sure they have some lying around and get out again within a minute and a half i reckon (try and get them to give you the rubber hose with it) if you have a phobia of them...or get a friend to go get it for you

Lemme know how you go Skip, I'm keen to see what I have to do. If I only need a sticker I'll be heading out to a Subaru dealership for a "98RON only" sticker

I got a hilux neck with mine and cut it just above the restrictor and welded the original part of the neck onto it. Made sure i had all the angles ect right, and booya i have a fuel filler neck with a restrictor and retain the original outside on the neck. I would have hated to put an ugly Holden Ford fuel cap on my ra23 where it is there for all to see
