W58 + xA6x = 2 different types of slave cylinder?
Thu, 17 March 2005 11:33
hey I am slowly getting my w58 manual conversion happening, but I just tried to test-fit the slave cylinder to the bellhousing and see if it would line up with the clutch fork and it seems like my slave is 'backwards'.
I tried to see if i could just flip it (so that it lines up with the fork) but the bleed valve will be obstructing it that way..! Is there really two different slave cyls for the xA6x series?????
but the one i have looks like its the reverse, with the bleeder valve pointing "down" from the perspective of that image. Obviously that also means that the push rod of the slave cyl misses the clutch fork by about 6cms.

ime not sure baout the W58
but I had the same problem fitting my J160...
the slave was wrong.
in the end I used a Supra slave with an extended 'rod bit'
that actually presses on the clutch fork park.
and it looks the same as that.
on the passenger side....
