Hi,
I was just wondering what sort of paint my sprinter came out of the factory with? What i actually want to know is can i spray acrylic lacquer over it?

go to ur local auto shot with paint mixing, they will have teh massive books on what toyota colours went on what year cars and what makes. You will be able to find ur colour and get it made up. Yes u can paint over it just prep it properly first.

i think wat hes tryin to say is i dont think u can paint 2pak over acrylic or something like that... you can but you need to spray a sealer coat of somekind over it first

I have used 2pak over acrylic but you need to give it a good sand so its got something to bite into, around 120-180 should do the job?

Thanks for the replies.
what i want to do is spray acrylic laquer over the factory paint. i have been told that you cant put acrylic over certain paints though.

yeah you cant paint acrylic over enamel. acrylic and 2 pak are very similar and i have had success using both together on my car. your factory car paint should be acrylic also.
if you want to clear it, wet rub with 400 i reckon then wipe it many times to clean it with clean water or prepsol. you should be right then to paint it.
