Somewhere in the aftermarket parts identification system, someone has incorrectly identified the TA22 and RA23 idler arm as being the same.
The TA22 idler arm is 10mm shorter than the 23/28 arms.
Both REPCO and RARE Spares, stocked the 23/28 idler as a TA22 item.
The only solution, is to take the old TA22 idler arm with you, when you buy a new idler arm.
Best bet is to buy it from a suspension workshop.
cheers Chuck.

Thanks Chuck,
I found out this exact problem as well to when I went to buy this bit from an Auto1 outlet.
He said, yep, its the same from 1970 to 77, and having wrecked a TA22 and compared both, I said no way, your book is wrong.
I went to a suspension mob after that.
Cheers,
Mitch.
