AE86 cup holder...

Ughhh ok! Had enough...
Had a cup holder (kmat silver and purple one) It kinda did fit over the angled dash, but go around a corner too quickly with a cup and it unclips itself and flys off... Heavy cup only need to be breaking granny corner speeds....
Anyone know of or even can buy a cup holder that is "perfecto" for an ae86?
If it must happen..
Buy and mail to me, Ill pay you for it and a lil for your troubles...
Other Q, the Autobarn DIn cup holder.coin drawer. The bottom DIN slot on an ae86, is there enough room between that and the gearshift boot for it to fit??? $50 for a non fitting thing is a gamble.

I finally found one called Type S or Type R, sold at motoquipe. It has 2 arms that you extend at the top to actually clip onto the louvres in the vent. It will not go anywhere unless you put some effort into taking it off.
Now i just need one of those adaptors so i can fit iced coffee cartons in there

Why not just make one and bolt it on that way you know it will never fall off.
But i guess it would be nicer to have a proper one

yeah I had two of those type R ones, didnt use them enough so I took them off...you can have em if u want?
Once they are on they dont come off! they are a bitch just to get back off!
But they are too small for the bottom of a 600ML coke, cause of the stoopid bulge at the bottom, but they bottle fits in upside down with the top wedged in the gap.
If ya want em jst PM me.
Cheers.

shcao wrote on Sun, 20 March 2005 23:51 | go for the ones that hand off the side from the glass cavity (the door).
cheap as, and effective.
but then again, just carry a bottle of H2GO or mount franklin, and you'll never need one
|
yeh Shcao is right, the ones that go in between the rubber and window on the door are the best, fits any bottle or cup, doesnt move either, got mine from Big W.

i'm in the same predicament...i'm considering putting an old CDrom into the DIN slot, and powering it and making the hole bigger...
i've thought of it for a while, but dont know if it will work, any ideas?
i think 50 bucks is too much for the din holder, is only worth 20 max.

or try getting one out of a vy i think commodore, has two spots for big cups and then mount it somewhere. being a commodore part you will get it for nothing.
cant imagine many people would get them from wreckers.
