You have to have to have a mod-plate in queensland do do that sort of stuff. Most roadworthy places can inspect and make plates for seating changes, rollcage etc. Some roll cages even come with the plate (or so i have heard). The best thing to do is look up saftey cert etc in th yellow pages and ask if they do modplates and seee what they recomend to make it legal.

get an engineer to certify the roll cage install - and if you're racing the car, get a CAMS certified cage (probably the 'supplied plate you're talking about) so you don't run into scrutineering problems or insurance hassles.

somewhere on the dept of tranport web site there's a PDF of a brochure on modifying vehicles and it's supposed to list approved engineers (e.g. workshops that issue the paperwork and affix the blue plate). most rally/road sport engineerng shops do blue plates/certification.
