It sounds to me like it may be related to the cranking/start values of the ECU tune up (Knowing which ECU may help people diagnose the problem).

I would dare say it might related to the/a o2 sensor.
Happened to my brother rb30 with a microtech. $40 second hand part and all was good.
When the motor is warm, does the motor run fine, or is it a matter of it just wont start again.
Cheers
Steve

another thing that has come to mind (i have experienced it myself) is heat affection to the starter's solenoid.
I was previously using a starter which did not have the heat sheild on it (from a 4ac) and when i thrashed the engine on a hot day and went to start it again (high engine bay temps), the starter would be a slut and not kick over.
I then installed a 4ag* starter with the heat shield, and all is well.

nice car dude
i vote starter motor!
i definately heard the solenoid kick in, the motor just doesnt have the power to crank the engine over
do some starter motors just not work when they are hot?
