Not sure about that. The RA65 has a T-series IRS diff, whereas the Mk2 is F-series.

if you rip out the whole diff assembly stub axle to stub axle then it is a straight swap
i.e. the bolt holes all line up perfectly
one thing you might want to check is the drive ratio of the supra diff though as they are all different
i think most are LSD

If you can get the whole rear assembly from a Mk2 Supra, it will bolt up to all the holes in the RA65 chassis. This would give you the stronger F-series diff and vented rear discs.
I'm pretty sure about the T-series part, although with there being so many variations anything is possible. I've even seen a T-series on a Mk2 Supra.

the diff that came off the supra that is providing the parts was an RA 65 diff and it seemed to be working fine with the discs. maybe you would need the driveshafts too but it should all just be the same. it looks the same

some ra65's had F series most had T series
now if the other diff was from a ra65 it could be an F or T
a T series diff that is a limited slip one is bloody rare as hens teeth, so it is probably a F series
if you can find out if it is a LSD then im sure it would be a F series which would be stronger anyway so just chuck that in other wise just swap the discs over because then if it isnt a LSD it is 99% sure to be a T series so then the discs would be a straight swap
i just grabbed the whole diff assembly from a ma60 to put in my ra65 as i didnt know if the discs could be swapped over easy enough and the supra diff is stronger anyway
if you have any problems my email is jemima@winshop.com.au
cheers Wayne

Most RA65's I've come across had F series open diffs. All RA60's appear to have T series diffs.
The MA61 rear end will swap in, but is it really worth it just to get rear discs? Unless you're building a race car, you won't notice the difference...

thats right sorry the ra65's have F series diffs and so do the ma60's (?) but the centres are bigger in diameter
good swap if you upgrade the front brakes as well, i noticed a pretty big difference but that was with a worked motor pushing the car around, i need every bit of stopping i can get

All F series diffcentres are the same diameter - 7.5". The T series centres are 6.7".

damn you are right again i went and checked the ra65 chassis tag and it says it was a f series and i know the supra diff was a f series, but there was some other reason i put it in other than disc brakes, just cant think of it right now

Anybody know if Sa63s came with F-sereis or T-series? I'm pretty sure most (if not all) RA65s got F-series.
When doing the rear disc conversions, I do hear you need a special brake proportioning valve, which only some Supras have. Ask someone on the OCC list, as they've all done it in the US
About Supra front brakes... I always assumed the Supra/Celica front brakes were identical.

Yeah, the front brakes are identical.
The Celica XX must've been a real freak of a thing then...a T-series IRS diff with discs!

the whole rear subframe will drop outta the back of both cars with (i believe) 4 big bolts. leave the wheels on teh axle. unbolt the subframe, unbolt the brake line(s), unbolt the shocks, and roll the subframe outta the car.
figuring out the brakes is up to you. your donor supra may have two rear brake lines, and your celica only one. you can do what you want, stick with one line or two.
but if you take out the subframe, instead of all the pieces seperately, you do not have to worry about putting everything back together, and the time spent doing that.
