if it's just connected to the block it'd have to be an earth, surely.

i would assume so, but tehre'[s already a big fuckoff earth strap for that, and ths one doesn't bolt to the block like most earth leads, it has it's own plug... and I cant get my head between the air-con and block to see if it's just attached to the block or actually goes anywhere interesting.

Most likely aircon.
Could be aircon earth, could be the switch for clutch on/off.

switch sounds most likely... maybe I wont chop it off then... I plan to hook the aircon up at some stage.

If it plugs directly onto the block, it wont be anything to do with aircon.
Oil pressure sensor perhaps?

as I said, I cant see where it goes exactly, as it's under the inlet manifold between the air-con and the block.
it's not plugged in, everything except the aircon is working, so it's not crucial
