Apexi AVC-R boost controller - who's got one / knows someone with one? Sun, 27 March 2005 23:19 Go to next message
I'm looking at getting one, widt teh absurd number of features and settings - just to give me something to fine-tune for years to come. I need to know if they're any good, what they're like to setup and adjust etc. . .

How does scramble mode work? Can you hold a button down to get the extra boost for as long as you want, or does it only cut in for a pre-set amount of time?

Thanks Smile

Sweet. Was it hard to setup, or did it self-learn alot of the settings? Do you have scramble-mode setup?

Hmmm.. - o.k. Do you use any of the far-out stuff, like the gear-dependant duty cycle on the wastegate solenoid?

Where did you mount it? does it make a good boost meter? Can you look in the manual if you get a chance, to see if you can hold scramble mode on? It's kinda important to me, as I'm planning on running scramble mode and water/alcohol injection off a common button, which should give me mucho-boost on demand. Very Happy Very Happy

Yeah all the settings you mentioned plus a few more are utilized in the manual setup mode.

The build of boost, the stability of the desired boost level and initial surge from a sudden burst can also be controlled to a certain extent (within the limits of what your waste gate can allow)

As for boost scramble mode, it is set with respect to time, so you can set it to raise boost for a certain amount of time then return to base setting. The readout it gives is pretty dependable, I'd have an independent gauge just to be sure the AVCR's pressure sender is working right.

you can find a PDF of the AVCRs instruction manual.
