I heard a few complaints about the way the drifting was run too, can you offer an opinion on it? Was it as bad as I've heard? On the upside James from IDA made the front page of the car guide in the Telegraph as well as a full page spread on page 4 of the car guide Shocked Pity they got the name of the club wrong they called it Drifting Australia instead of Initial Drift Australia Rolling Eyes

Yep it was shite... Being the main reason i went i was extremely dissappointed,

Friday the cars came out for their "Practice" session & after two laps they took all the cars off because some of the cars wern't doing it properly... Then on Sunday i got there at 10am as that was when the finals were meant to be starting... At 11am the cars fianally got on to the track with only a few actually being able to drift.

The cars did approximatly 4 laps(give or take) & that was it... No tandem no judges that i saw, I've got no idea how the hell it was judged.

The icing on the cake was when they began the final event of the day which was the "Power drifting" Rolling Eyes All the cars were coming out & doing big burnouts & stuff as it was meant to be the big finale of the weekend... But apparently the organiser are also the fun police so they stopped the last of the cars from going on the track cause they wern;t doing it properly! Rolling Eyes The whole event was poorly organise & very badly run, I wont be going if it's on again nextyear thats for sure.

PS. sorry if this is really dodgy written i've been trying to do it between stuff at work... Smile

I'd have to suggest that the DVD will make the event look much better then it actually was! Confused

i have heard only good things, i know the powercruise 1 and 2 held in brissie were the bomb, prolly cause u can see the whole track from everywhere, power skids is what u'd have seen, where they just stand on it and see how long they can keep the wheels spinning for.

this is what happens when u have too much money

I agree with Phil. Powercruise 2 was awesome! The best event I have ever been to. Got to cruise around the track and race anyone whenever. It was great fun!

to the people who didn't like it: maybe you should enter next time as I bet it is much more fun to compete than spectate.
