ripped ANOTHER block apart today, and whoa! toyota springs another suprise... alloy timing cover! no black crappy plactic, but genuine cast alloy. same shape and design as the plastic, but shiny and all sexy looking.
anyone seen these before??
one small problem: ive only got the bottom cover not the top one that cover the cam gears. anyone got one they want to sell?? i can provide a plastic one if you need it
cheers

It would seem that only the bottom covers are alloy, I pulled my 7M front end apart to change the seals the other day and found I had the alloy cover you are talking about, should have spent some time pollishing it but you cant see it once the radiators back in anyhow LOL
