GZE block FE head Mon, 28 March 2005 18:31 Go to next message
Does this work? What will the compression ratio be? Cams for GE head will or will not work? Will 7MGTE injectors work in the 4A fuel rail? (remembering reading something about this before but unsure). Building a turbo motor and would like to keep costs to a minimum since I don't plan on running more than 10psi for a long time (unless the GZE block can withstand more). Any help would be greatly apreciated. Oh, this will be going into an AE101 Geo Prizm / Toyota Corolla.

i wouldn't think it would be the best, FE have a a single driven cam that is connected to the other by a gear, so the gze cams would not fit in. if you could get a whole gze thats your best bet, or even get the block and look for a GE head at a wreckers.
i also think that the inlet and exhaust ports on the FE a smaller than the GE, as th "G" in 4AGE stands for "sportier model"
the GZE block can run way more than 10psi, i ran a turbo set up on a stock silvertop 20V running 7psi and its still running a year later.

Just put a Whole GZE in. There are practically Zero performance parts for an FE ie Cams, etc just because they aren't considered a performance engine! No, GE cams can't fit..

I was hoping to get away with just the block. If I do put a whole GZE in, I won't be able to use my alternator or other acsessories, correct?

who cares about the alternator if ur just worried about that fitting on u shouldnt be putting that head on it the "fe" head wasnt designed to be a performance engine/head Razz theres plenty of alternators that will fit

as th "G" in 4AGE stands for "sportier model"
actually the 'G' denoted wide head twin cam and the 'F' denotes narrow head twin cam

G = Great
F = Fucking shitty.

F is an economical design, they werent made for anything but commuter cars.

G, however, well... take a look in members rides Smile

We can draw 3 conclusions from this post

1. There are not many quick cars in Toowoomba if a 4AFE powered seca was "taking them on".

2. "i only had it to 180km/h and it wanted to keep going (but i ran out of road)" this would take approximately 25 seconds and a f$%king long road. Please don't do this again as the seca was never designed for this and I can guarantee IT didn't want to keep going Rolling Eyes

3. The 4AFE is ghey.

Does this work?

Maybe but why would you do it?

They work in a 4AGE and 4AGZE fuel rail

It can withstand much more.

Just do what others have said and use a complete 4AGZE, building up a mongrel heap of crap will only end in tears and cost twice as much in the long run. Save some more, do it properly and do it once.

I am unclear on the actual reason for you wanting to use an FE head as I can't see any logical reason to do it???????
