MA70 Springs Tue, 29 March 2005 01:39 Go to next message
I currently have king lows on my car and i feel that they are not low enough and kings dont make super lows. Am wondering what my options are.

regards
Phil

You can get king springs to reset the springs to a desired height

I still have 2 maybe 3 inches of gap between wheel and the edge of the guard on the front. Is this normal from lows?

Well I work at Repco and king lows are 30-40mm lower and super lows are 50-60mm lower. Now I know they don't do a super low for the A70 model, but you can get them custom made. To whatever spring rate you want and to whatever ride height you want.

Or you could always just chop them Smile

Yes cutting springs is a stupid idea only done by tight-arse clowns.

Yes you can get custom springs made to your specifications and they aren't very expensive. I'd get ones a bit harder than stock, especially in the back as I feel the ma70 handling is let down by too soft springing. And definately needs to be lower, esp in the front - it helped "point" my old car into the corners better (reduced understeer).

I have been informed that going lower than the King low springs would mean that the car would not be legal to have on roads. Sent email to king springs asking for springs 1.5 inches lower than lows. If any one is wondering it is 90 buck addition for custom.
So does everyone have ilegal cars or have i been told wrong.

get height adjustable coilovers Smile

you will have some nice stiff shocks (usually) and the advantage of height adjustment, I have seen sets of Tien HA's go for around $500 delivered on yahoo auctions Smile

just some food for thought
