1984 celica motors? Tue, 29 March 2005 06:53 Go to next message
hey all i have a SA63-RA65 the one with the 2S-C motor and was wondering what motor i could replace it with.
i asked a while back but didnt get many deffinant answers on what would be the best choice,
as i want it to be an hopefully easy drop in without having to change sumps and all that.
i have been told the 1JZGTE is good but then i have to change engine mounts and sump and im looking to find is there any motors that are good performers that dont need that done, that are made by TOYOTA.

cheers
matt

been said before many times Very Happy

1gge/gze/gte - simplest
3sge/gte - possible, but expensive/difficult
4age/gze - Thought to be underpowered, probably right.

5/6/7M - lot of weight over the front wheels, hard on length of engine bay
1jz/2jz - see 5/6/7M

I think setsuna means 3sgte

I've got the same car but it's got a 1ggte.

still 2 litre but it's a 6 twin turbo.

it is the most fun since blow up dolls.

the 1jzgte will be waaaaaaaay to heavy thats if it will fit.
the 1ggte just fits in there nicly.

bang for buck the 1ggte would be the best

weight/power in this car would be the best option

Setsuna means 3tgte, just like he said.

Doesn't the 1ggte require sump mods? or is that only the ra28 style celica's that need sump shortening?

It depends on what crossmember it has.
Is the SA63 the same as the TA63? the AA63? the RA60/65?
