wat ae86 to buy? Sat, 02 April 2005 04:12 Go to next message
hey all, im in the market for an ae86 hatch, just wanna get your opinion on what to get

i want an lsd and the 4age so im considering importing one,

has anyone driven a 4age aus one and a 4age jap one and whats the difference, is the only difference the lsd?

i hear the gt-apex's have adjustable seat hight and steering wheel tilt?...is this needed or is the fixed seat and steering hight at a good spot?

also how much am i looking at for a gt, gtv and gt-apex if i import it compared to buying an aus one with the 4age and lsd

ill probly spend upto 6-7k for a clean one

cheers
joel

The aussie sprinter never came with the 4age, only a 4ac.

Seat height and wheel tilt depends entirely on personal preferences and how tall you are, how long your arms and legs are, etc etc.

You'll never get a clean jap spec sprinter in your price range, as they are quite rare nowadays and they need to be complied to aussie standards before you can licence it. For example, the jap ae86's did not come with side intrusion bars; a requirement here in australia.

search please... the differences between the versions has been covered a thousand and one times...

if you want creature comforts, buy a excel...

finding ones for sale in aus with lsd and a engine upgrade a rather rare and i don't at all like ur chances finding one for less than 6k

heya,

general rule of thumb.
The Cheapest you can get a jap spec on the road is about 10k.

for 10k you could buy a pre worked aussie spec sprinter. And often they come with some sort of LSD or another

You wanna buy my trueno, Very clean australian delivered, 4age with aftermarket managenent, and I'll throw in a LSD rear end!

i'll be happy to let mine go for 7k, mint sprinter with 100kw Laughing

many people like me wouldn't want to let theirs go without a price that favours them (favour's an understatement)
