i just T-ed of the heater core lines in the AE71 - but this was mainly cos the RB25 turbo had big water fittings on it, the same size as heater hose.
I took the feed from the line that goes from the thermostat housing to the heater core, and the drain from the turbo to the line that goes from back of the head to the heater tap.
It made a bit of a mess of heater hose, but it worked pretty well.
There are about eleventy billion ways to do it

eh. Grant ran his turbo without the water cooling, so any water flow is better than that

I did it by tapping a fitting into the water fitting on the back of the head, and brazing some bundy tube into the heater pipe that runs down the side of the block. Then I got some bundy tube, brazed banjo's on the ends that go to the turbo, and put some lengths of aeroquip hose in the middle for some 'give'. Much tidier that way!

i run no water cooling, even neater again. however the air filter has a tendency to melt off the front of the turbo.

tee into your heater lines, too easy. HK$ did it that way with their Mr2 turbo kit, so it must work. works fine for me too.

while we're not on the subject, does anyone know where to get the silver reflective heat shield tube stuff that goes over water lines and the like? and roughly what its worth?

hmm air conditioning places ?
well i T'ed off as mentioned - off the inlet mani/TB lines, but the water supply is more direct for the turbo cuz i've angled the T so that it flows more for the turbo
hope it works

With what I did it's still going to the same places as both heater hoses, it's just tidier than having bits of heater hose everywhere. If you're on a tight budget though, go grab a couple of 202 commodore heater hoses - a right angle with a fair length of straight hose, and not too bad at around $5 each. Very handy for doing jobs like this, or LPG conversions.
