hey alvin, is that in Kin's black hachi? can see the s13 dash
anyway, these are definately the way to go if you want a aftermarket wheel. none of that indicator stalk trouble that you will get with other boss kits.

Are you serious?? I've used this product and have friend's that use this product and nothing like this has happend before. Was the kit installed right? What happend prior to the kit breaking? We'll Joel still has not PMed me so we shall have to wait.
Arch: appreciate the feedback but why not let actual buyers respond.

its true.. i was there and the kit was fitted correctly... it was loose when we initially fit iot the splines dont seem so match tight enough or something.
so it was boled up.. and taken to a drift day... splines all sheered off!
had this been on the street the results could have been a LOT worse...

I just spotted the thread and thought id put in the info, i know i didnt actually buy the product, but i was at teh track with joel and know that it was fitted correctly and it sheared.
If you and your friends are using this product, id suggest changing asap, maybe they dont use a good grade of steel for teh splines? i dont know

fuck that dosnt sound good about them fucking up.......Im now concerned as they look just like the ones that I purchased from an ebay seller.......they come from malaysia and the seller gave me a list of autotecnica boss's so I could pick the model I need so I was assuming they were autotecnica, but to my surprise/horror when I recieved it today it was a fucking piece of cheap ass shit. the bit that attaches to the spline is metal but its got a rubber boot/cover, not solid metal like the autotecnica's or other boss's.
are these the same ones, ??

thats a bit far fetched man.
you cant assume that these boss kits are the same as yours from just these pics. most boss kits look the same.
you did not buy a boss kit from GTStar so dont go implying that his stuff is like yours without actually seeing in person.
GTStar bought the boss kit for my car from malaysia and it has had no probs at all, and it has seen track days, not just street driving. its the same with other guys that GTStar has helped out.
It was most likely that individual boss kit that was a defect. you cant assume that they are all the same.
has anyone else had a problem with their boss kit?

..I was not at all bagging ur product man, just stating that they look identical and it makes me wonder if the one I bought could possibly fuck up as well..... I believe it was a manufactures defect I asure you..
The reason I was upset was because it is not what I was expecting to recieve, thats all...(the ebay seller in question is a top seller and I have purchased items from him before and recieved quality products and service) the boss I got was just simply not what I expected
hope that clears it up.

I had an issue with one of these boss kits on the weekend...but it was simply a minor manufacturing defect.
Alvin is a very reliable seller, and the price of these boss kits is around the same as the Autotechnica boss kit, however these stick out much further and are much more useable.

sounds very much like an installation fault. nothing to do with the product.
"it was loose when we initially fit it" and you were stupid enuf to drive with a loose boss? the fact it was loose would be what slopped the splines out and damaged the boss. thats got nothing to do with the manufacturing of the product. maybe you need to go to someone that knows what they are doing to install parts on your car or you may end up with suspension falling apart and drive into the side of parked cars next time.....

In all honesty i doubt you can. Boss kits are very simple devices, and the only real way one can stuff up an install is to offset it such that indicators dont turn off when the wheel is recentered.
That certainly wouldnt crate the sort of catastrophic failure which Joel experienced. I think it was a one off manufacturing mishap.
