just wanna get some educated opinions on what needs to be replaced/fixed in my bigport.....
the previous owner loved taking it to 8000rpm on numerous occasions and valve bouncing the shit out of it....
after it goes past 6 Grand it makes a really unhealthy noise.....dont know how to describe it though......but it dosnt sound good......I feel cheated as I know its got another 1200rpm to go till redline
I beleive it to be the valves/springs........
can someone explain more of what the problem is.....................................??
cheers for any help

I don't know much about the issues with valve gear, but it sounds like worn valve springs to me... They aren't hard to replace though.

could you try to describe it better then "sounds terrible" & "a really unhealthy noise"??
level, syncronized or random changes?
how many Ks/miles since its been doing it?
what's the compression?

why are you concerned with the " noisy" motor then? just save your time and money and drive it until you get your new engine.

Im not so much as concerned...........I just want to work on my car and fix things up while its off the road.......new motor wont be going in for a while either........So if I find it not to expensive to fix then I will do it.......understand..

that's cool man, i just didn't realise you weren't too concerned with the motor since you planned to replace it anyway.
does the car have a/c? check your belts first, then check internals. if it definately doesn't sound like a minor thing, since you've actually heard it and we haven't, then i guess it could be the valve srings, like the others said.
