does anyone know if a supra R164 gearbox will bolt to a 3RZ bell housing??
I belive the 3RZ has a R150 behind it.

The R154 is the same box as the R150, but with different ratios, and 30mm (I think) longer input shaft, and only RWD output, ie, no transfer case.



But what are you asking now?

Can you put an R154 behind it?

There is nothing wrong with a W58 unless you are planning uber power.

Depends on how you plan to treat it.
How heavy the car is.
And how much torque you plan on putting through it.

is it a w56 or w58?

w58 is enough for most applications - lots of drag cars use them because they're very tough for the price. it has survived the punishment my supra deals out to it, but apparently the bit extra torque norbie's 2jz puts out is enough to break them (we won't discuss norbie's shifting style here Smile)
