I seriously want to swap up to a GZE but as im under 25 its not really an option, Also i am aware that with alot of cars the variants carrying less powerfull engines like NA's are equipped with smaller brakes and different suspension so i think for now i would like to work my way from the ground up and once a GZE conversion is an option i will have a solid base for it?

thanks
josh

that sounds like a damn good plan.. make it handle, learn how to drive it, THEN give it more power....

well, first thing you could do is get great tyres. that will increase yur grip level and maybe make it easier to identify what you need to alter in the suspension.
then see if there are bolt on upgrades that were optional items for your car (like as you said, brakes) and then look to shocks and springs perhaps?

also check all your bushings as the extra compliance from rooted bushes will affect how the car feels..

oh and search the net for ppl who have modded their AW11's with good results..

The wheel and tyre combo is pretty shit at them moment so new tyres are definitly on my list of things to buy, also some new wheels having a look at a set of enenki's.

please dont get chromies, lol

and dont go to big hey, i reckon 16's would be sweet. sort this out and the suspension should become fairly obvious/easy to diagnose

first look there Smile a host of mr2 info...

we have Enkei RP-01's on one of our twos and they look fantastic as well as weighing bugger all.

suspension really needs a freshen up after this many years. new shocks, springs, bushes will make the world of difference.

i also reccomend joining the mr2 Club of australia.. a host of useful peple and fun stuff.

welcome to the mr2 family they are a bucket of fun, my garage is home to two of them now Smile my gf got one then i just had to have one.

Awesome what are a set of P1's worth?
1200 bucks is sweet, so say 2500 would get me some snazzy shit?
Also a freind of mine has a set of celica GT4 brakes that he will give to me for a carton of beer lol, are they an easy swap?
thanks for all your help guys its been great!

Oh yeah just another question is there any real advantage to getting a roll cage or half cage installed? i plan in giving this car hell when i get onto the track and id like to to remain street legal so what do you think

Thanks again

peace

i wouldnt even want to price buddy club or enkei wheels here Smile not as bad as simmons but still be prepared to fork over your left nut in comparison to something like ROH or anything more common.

the celica GT4 ST185RC (twin piston) brakes are a direct fit, the ST185 (single piston) are sorta a fit you need to swap disks and get a new PCD drilled into the rotors but other then that fit. look in the aw11 thread ive got quite a bit of info re the twin piston swaps as thats what im running in my car atm.
