i'm on the final legs of the 4agte conversion and i want to know the essential vacuum lines that need to be hooked up off the inlet manifold/throttle body.
If you are looking at the engine bay front on, there are 2 nozzles coming from the throttle body facing the front, underneath the inlet intercooler plumbing, there are about 3 larger sized 1/8th nozzles outlets facing the same way.
On top near the rear is a circular plastic platform with 3 little outlets coming from that.
I know the essentials to hook up are:
boost guage
BOV
wastegate actuater
brake booster (done)
what are the others?
I've seen other setups with one line going to the carbon cannister - is this needed?
One is labelled "C" (should be smaller) - this is for the charcoal canister. Get a one way vacuum valve on this one.
The other is labelled something (i forgot) and is connected to the plenum side of the butterfly. Being relatively large i decided to use this one as my wastegate line.
Underneath the TB..... it gets fun
A bit of reading for you first: http://www.toymods.org.au -> tech docs -> 4age book -> EFI -> pages 84 onwards.
NO - when you actually look at your TB... the two lines pointing DOWN are your coolant lines which circulate air into the AAV.
again looking at the TB... the two smaller fittings pointing OUTWARDS are for power steering - block these.
The larger fitting you point to on the left side of the diagram is for the external idle up valve, block it also, unless you have an idle up valve which you are using (usually for aircon).
