how stupid am I?

Drove car today, parked it. Get back in it to drive home at night, and notice headlights aren't working. Check ll the fuses - fine. ok, better check bulbs - they haven't been on in months, it's possible they're both fuggered. Crack open a headlight and notice the plugs aren't attached.
Shit hey? that was stupid not remembering to connect them. Go to plug it in and realise the real reason they're not working - the bulb and bulb holder are missing - stupid me has at some point removed them and forgotten to put them back in.
Now I have the fun job of trying to locate them in my house, or going to stupid PNPL to get another 2. Does anyone have 2 spares lying around?

I was not going to agree to the heading. Shit happens but to leave it over night in a "slight dicey area" then I will agree you would have been better off slowly driving it home,I've done it and just tell them (if you get pulled over) that they have just gone off and your taking it home.

well, by "slightly dicey" I mean in the work car park, hidden between 2 4WDs, behind gates with security patrols after hours. just the area is slightly dicey.
