Ive just been mucking around with a wire for an override switch for my aircon fan...

its an on/off switch obviously
i also have a 5 pin relay im intending to use...

Does anyone have any simple drawings i could follow to get me started?
the relay is a tyco 30/85/86/87/87a

do you need to switch a positive or a negative?

a typical spot light relay set-up that would give you a postive (12v+) output useing a 12v+ trigger would be as follows:
pin 30 to a fused constant 12v+ source, 85 is the earth, 86 is the 12v+ trigger (from say your switch) pins 87 and 87a would then be the 12v+ output to the a/c fan.


i used to know heaps of different configurations with relays, but it's been way too long since i've done all that sort of thing. i'm sure the more 'up to date and in practise' people of the forum will chime in and offer maybe a better way. Smile
