Camry Performance Upgrades

I have a 1992 V6 Camry that I am going to do up. What sort of performance upgrades should I be looking at and how much of a difference will they make? For example I've been told to look at performance exhausts and extractors.

Yes get a full exhaust with extractors, to see the difference get it on a dyno, if money permits you can put in a 3sgte out of a GT4 celica or turbo your v6, whats the engine(model) in your camry?.

No, it looks newer than that and a lot rounder. Not sure what you mean by wide body. Sorry, only new to this.

i dont think extractors and full exhaust is worth the money it costs u unless u can pick up a set of 2nd hand extractors

it sounds like a widebody with a 3vz-fe motor to me
i doubt you'll find many performance parts for your camry off the shelf, they weren't exactly designed with performance in mind, and very few people modify them enough to make a market for bolt on bits
you could try with the usual, exhaust and ecu (either full aftermarket or chip), then look at head porting, but you're not likely to get much more power out of it than it's making now. perhaps add a turbocharger if you can find room (big engine bay, but big engine)
if you want it to be a nice car with lots of power, you're going to need to upgrade the suspension too. i have no idea if you can get lowered springs or adjustable shocks, call around a few auto parts places (supercheap, autobarn, aussie auto, etc)
personally, i wouldn't bother. for the money you'll spend, you're not going to get a very rewarding vehicle out of it. if you really like your camry, then keep it stock and do up something else with more potential. if you just want a modified car, sell the camry and get a car with a reputation for performance (and there are plenty of toyota examples on this forum) or buy something that's fast already. but that's just my opinion. good luck with it all

PS: this engine also came out in the american toyota tacoma, so as you look for things online, don't just restrict your searches to camry, look for people who've modified v6 tacomas as well. perhaps you'll find something good that we don't know about over here

first thing id be sorting is the handling, they are not the best!
are you sure you want to do this car up?
not trying to sound negative, if you really like it and want to then go ahead, but just remember your not stariting from te best place!
if forget about turbos, a s/c would be easier. still not cheap though.
but yeah, as above, handling first
