I think that would be a very highly debated topic and best left to ones own opinion!
I'd put em between autocrossers and time triallers though

i put them somewhere round there to, it does require a fair bit of skill to control a car and hold it sideways, but to setup a car and try and hit the perfect lines consistently, i feel is harder.

wheel to wheel racers well i do agree with the fast and furies bit.
You dont need expirience to press the pedal down on a straight line.
Now has anyone been a passenger of a evo rally car?!!

that whole thing was just gay...except for the street/highway racers.
I reckon as soon as you take it off public roads and test the limits of driver and car in a safe professional environment your deserve respect whatever the discipline.
but remember.....
...it dont matter if you win by an inch or a mile.....winnins' winnin!!

I'd say rallying is at the very top of time trialling - so much so that it is higher than the bottom of wheel-to-wheel racing (like V8 supercars), but not up to the top (like F1)
I hate to say I'm the freeway racer, mainly because my car is really not so good for auto-cross. it will be taken down the quarter, and ideally I'd love to do some time trials. unless I find the girl they talk about at the end, I'll never make it to wheel-toi-wheel
"A woman with a good stock portfolio is highly desirable, because Wheel-to-Wheel racing is ahhh.....about five times more expensive than any other level on the Pyramid, as your car will break down more, the parts you need to go fast are more expensive, you blow through rear tires every weekend, you probably have to have a truck and trailer to tow the car, you need an extensive pit crew help to keep the car running that that you over modified in your thermonuclear war with other people to get to the top of the podium."

This is all well and good for the drivers.
But there is no better legal test for all out power than the 1/4 mile.
I like to watch circuit racing, rally, drift etc. but I really want to do quarter mile racing. It is what excites me. 0-200km in 10 secs in a street car, that is the real shit

I have more respect for my clutch, gearbox, diff and C.V/uni joints than to beat the hell out of my car looking to get a number for others to judge it by.
That said, I WILL be heading trackside for a drive-day once I get my spare set of rims, to get all "lappy" on Winton's ayshh . . . .
In the meantime, I'll just have to console myself with some wheel-to-wheel Kart racing.
