3sgte idle control

Hi all, I have a mate with a ST185 3sgte engine.
I haven't seen it personally yet but this is what i've been told by him.
It is having a problem at idle, keeps hunting between 1000rpm - 2000prm or so.
He said when he unplugs what he thinks is the idle control it then idles at 2000rpm steadily.
Is there an idle motor or something on the inlet manifold/throttle body?
Thanks
Joel

i dont know of any ISCV on the ST185 3sgte....
what he could be referring to is the idle control VALVE. A simple on/off valve which allows a fixed volume of air to bypass the throttle (usually when aircon or high electric loads switched on).
Plug the air lines up on that and do more testing?
