Hey guys,
aside from everything else,
If anyone has shots of their 1jz engine bay or 7m (n/a and turbo) and
screw it, if anyones willing, could you PM me a pic of your engine bay? More applicable to soarer drivers or ma60-70 and jza70 drivers.
Would be appreciated, cheers

Interesting. That was for an auto one though, huh!
hmm.
as much as i do NOT want to go auto, perhaps I should since I can always go manual later and the 1J auto will be a lot of fun still... I'm sure you can testify to that earthweb?

I couldnt find out whether it was r154 or not. and yeah 4.5k is a bit steep. further more a number of places out by sydney will flog the 1jz for $1195, just look in hot fours mag. On the other hand, say 1.5k for the motor to be fair, then all the rest for anciliaries? It might work for you z20 drivers, but by the looks of things a lot of what would come with the half cut will be next to useless on the z10. though I haven't come close to doing it yet, its still a curiosity - what are his chances of shifting the goods? but i just thought someone might be interested, his ad is usually in the banner above the thread anyways.

You have the option of getting an auto cut for $2200ish, and then a JZA70 manual conversion kit for $2200ish, or just get a manual JZA70 cut for $4000-$4500 in the first place.
I know what I'd be getting...
And Phyro, if you get a cut, get a JZX81 or JZX90 cut.
If you want to go manual, just get an engine+loom/ecu package.

well if my 1G is shitting itself then i'd rather get the 1J now than have no car to drive at all (ie, if i cant afford to get the manual cut straight away)
i swear i saw manual jza70 cuts for like 3500 though, in an ad for a halfcut dealer in HPI.
Of course I would prefer the manual, that is of no question at all!

What boost controller are you using?
Someone i know around here got his 1j with big turbo setup to spool up 500rpm earlier by just running a turbosmart e-boost. Definitly a big difference, and something to consider if your not running somethine like that.

yeah 500rpm earlier was definitly what happened on this car, and the guys who convinced him to actually install it allready swear by them. The car was producing above 400rwkw on high boost, so u can imagine the huge difference that boosting 500rpm earlier made to the car, funny enough he's since bought a bigger turbo, to be fitted shortly...

what turbo did he have on and whats he now bought to wack on out of interest? I'm hoping we may be able to gets some similar sort of capabilities out of the HKS evc boost controller i have once we figure out how to use it as i had a read up on it and the e boost and they seem to be simlilar sorts of products and also both in the same price range, shall see thurs what the verdict is when back on the dyno.

Most of the better boost controllers can do this now, they actually prevent any air from getting to the wastegate from the compressor cover, thus preventing any wastegate creep, thus making it make full boost quicker.

Apparently theres some new boost controller on skylines forums that they are raving about I seen it advertised on ebay and they pretty cheap too dunno if they are worth it or not , doesn’t spike the boost and holds the boost stedily
Now im in a fix as to what boost controller to get damn

I have just had a new exhaust put on my soarer and my old one is up for sale, its a stainless steel catback unit that has been HPC coated and freshly painted in a coat of black, its 3.5" in diamter and made both my GZ20 and JZZ20 sound absolutely amazing, not droney on idle at all and doesnt really start making much noise untill around 5,000 rpm.
Comes with a cannon on the back which had a small hole on the top of it, this has since been welded up
asking $400 ono for it
i thought id give first option to the soarer owners
