soooo many variables..

mismatching brands is fine, as long as you get the right spring rates and dampening rates...

what type of cusco and tien coilovers?

are they ok or fucked?

"it was a 9 sec car when it came out from japan"

you have way to much interior to even be near a 9 sec car

t78 on a 2.5 l 1jz would prolly be in the 11s

nice one! but is it complianced? it looks like it's missing a plate that mine had in the engine bay... also, nice kit!!

and its so odd, my old 1987 model one had certain features and stuff yours doesnt, yet you have a sunroof and stuff and yours is a 1988... like i had steering wheel mounted radio and climate controls...

plus your climate control looks like a unit out of a pre-1988 soarer... very odd

well im pretty sure its complied as it was driving in SA.

current problems im facing before pittage is

1. O/D OFF light flashing (yet to find out error code)
2. drivers seat will only lie down, sorta - like touching the back seat and when i wanna click it up into the "upright" "Comforable" position it clicks past it and folds forward something is fucked in it, i can see its going to be the most annoying thing to fix aswell !

got 4 new tyres and a wheel alignment today at Bob Jane T-MART , rears were at 30% pretty much so i got 4 new tyres 205/60/15

Engine is clean after the 20 minute car wash with the BOILING HOT degreezzer at the cars-u-wash place last night and with a mate scrubbing the top with a can of degreezer

so hrrmmm how to fix the chair !

my seat would only click right at the back too or fold forward (i didnt have anything fucked in it when folding forward though)

you have a twistable knob on the side to adjust , the handle is just to move the seat back and forth

unless i am misunderstanding you Smile

like when u pull the leaver on the side ,the back will come up to a angle like this

|_ rather than like this \_

well

mine wont sit like |_ it will fold forward , i can hear it hitting the |_ position but skipping over it and folding forward

ill figure it out tomorrow Gah so annoying though , anyone else had this problem

Coff33! Nice one!
so much like mine

Merudo - nope, I got same climate controls, did have the air purifier but i dropped that out (sub more important) but the controls still there.

and Coff33, I had the same thing happen when i picke dit up. i know whats going on (i hope Razz )

the lever is that way so the seat can flip foward for people to get into the back but when pushed back, go back into the popsition you originally had it in. Mer is right, there are two knobs (should be) down by the right side near the lever. one of them (if you have it) - the smaller one - is for the leg part of your seat going up or down. the larger one adjusts the angle of your seat.

the lever is just to put the seat in two positions - foward so someone can get into the back from driver side/help you get stuff from your back seat - and the setting you choose. chances are previous owner was a laid back ghetto cruiser kinda guy.
i nearly flipped when i went to drive my car for the first time and found i was leaning back so damn far. Laughing memories.

i hope that was the case and that either you solved it, or b) will solve it now.

cheers

Phyro

Hey Steve/Indian,
I have the manual surround in my car - so if you can find someone who can do a copy in a reasonable amount of time, I'm happy for them to use mine as the template.

OH - and a big thanks to Rosss who I caught up with in Perth the other week for showing me around and taking me for a quick spin in his 1JZ-monster-single beast.

I might have to see if I can wrangle another work trip out west when you finally get the thing all cleaned up, tuned and registered.

No worries Steve
I'd love to have a mini meet in Melbourne for us Z20 people - especially now that the days are getting nicer - good cruising weather.

Come up with some dates and we'll see how we go.

Hey everyone,
I tohguht i would introdude myself as i will be buying a soarer in a few months, ive been reading these forums for ages becuse my family has always been into toyotas. Are soarers easy to modify(i am refering the the more modern ones) And what are the best models to look out for regarding features and more up to date technology?
Also what are the common problems for the newer soarers?

cheers

I NEED THE POWER STEERING COOLER

Also for those who have removed the front bumper or rear bumper is it a two piece bumper bar as in does the grey strip on it separate them into two
Hope u guys know what im referring to need to know if the bar separates into two for making another front bar so I can keep the upper portion which is the one near the head lights and then just make a different one for the part below the grey strip and put it all together
Cheers

yeah man can u see if u can salvage the cooler i dont want the lines broken lolllneed it intact i only need the cooling lines dont want the reservoir

and damn for the front bar was thinking it would have been easier if it seperated as i want to keep the top bit of the stripe and only change the bottom but maybe they can make the mould of the stock one and modify the bottom

damn ideas

dont care if its the non foggie front bar, i dont particularly want them anyway, just more stuff to get smashed...

PM me what you want for the parts I need that you have

i dont want to buy stuff I dont need, I already have one spare passenger side guard and 3 pairs of passenger side headlights

Hey lately when i've been driving my soarer when the car is cold the steering creeks. And when i accelerate once the revs get up to around 3g's maybe a bit more the throttle cable makes a few wierd vibration like things. Feels the the cable is stretching or something i dont know its just really, really wierd.

Any idea's.

Sorry i couldnt be more descriptive i'll try and think of some analogy's.

Guys I have got in contact with the guy who makes the scissor doors in Japan, apparently he is the only one who makes them in japan and he doesn’t have any in stock he says he might be able to make 5 sets in this year or so is anyone interested in these kits if so we can organise a group buy of it to Australia
I have no price yet for it plus he doesn’t know how to send them to Australia ,

Anyone can help me on this maybe we can get this guy to send us some/or other parts for our soarers , some thing like a middle man or so as he has a soarer himself and might be helpful to us
Just a thought

btw the pics of the scissor doors were posted on this site few pages back if anyone was wondering tis the same ones and the same guy in the web page
