Big Rob wrote on Wed, 12 October 2005 19:11 | Hey lately when i've been driving my soarer when the car is cold the steering creeks. And when i accelerate once the revs get up to around 3g's maybe a bit more the throttle cable makes a few wierd vibration like things. Feels the the cable is stretching or something i dont know its just really, really wierd.
Any idea's.
Sorry i couldnt be more descriptive i'll try and think of some analogy's.
|
power steerin needs a flush , it will most prob be the case and will get rid of the squeeling
cable i dun know are u sre the cable is stretching
mine does a shuddeering when at that rpm but thats due to my centre bearing in the tailshaft being fubared
maybe urs s the same i cant understand why the cable would be shuddering and stretching

Ok, i'll flush the ps as soon as posible. Its not that its stretching, well not that i know of. Its just really hard to describe. It just makes some wierd sensations through the pedle. Ever since i had to get my throttle boddie cleaned this has happened.

WTF WHY DID U HAVE TO GET THE THROTTLE BODY CLEANED u weren’t running sewerage through the air pipes were you
Since the throttle body was fiddled with im sure the fcuked up the spring /related components when they put it back and that’s why u getting the shudderi8ng or whatever u explained about
Power steering flush id a very messy job if doing by urself be carefull as it will spill everywhere use dex 3 fluid

The throttle boddie was removed from the car. A few weeks ago i posted that my car just stopped running one day. The mechanic came around and just removed the pipe coming from the intake and sprayed some carb cleaner in there. Fixed everything up.
I dont know, i'll have a look around my throttle boddie.
Hey indian, out of curiosity, whats involved in a powersteering flush? Can you explain it in steps etc. That would be awsome.

OKAY BEFORE U DO IT
Make sure u have another person to help or it can get really messy
Below is a link on how to do it in a 30 series soarer , its basically the same procedure u just need to locate which hose is inlet and which is outlet (trial and error) this is why it gets messy cause if u have the wrong hose the oil will splash everywhere, lollllll getting the hose off the reservoir is very hard be careful not to hurt urself
My car didn’t steer well after the power steering flush cause I changed the cooler,(the metal lines) for an after market one , I strongly suggest u do not do that just do the flush and be done

doing that and turning the car to on should yield check engine light flashing the codes...
those are the right terminals to bridge... for a gen2 1g anyway...

My 1G and nearly every other factory ECU works the same, get a paperclip and go from T to E1. The revs should change, the timing should be locked on base (probably 10) and the light should start flashing.

can anyone with a 7mgt powered MZ21 tell me what pin config they have on there - ECU,
i have 10 18 24 and on the cygnus online manual the ECU for the NA 7m is 10 18 24 and the turbo is 26 16 22,
and im pretty sure all 21's are this way because i have a height controller for the airbag supension and its a direct plug in intercepter loom that fits perfect,
there has got to be different loom, plug and ecu's for 20's 21's and ma70's can someone learn-ed tell me wats up?
mine is an auto too,

just a note for those doing the diag, i think the car needs to be running BEFORE you try to do it, thus, start the car then short the pins, not the other way around, which is what i was doing i think, works fine now. (so many commas, i know.)

I know every soarer owner wants a bdy kit but resist the urge to by this just because its available lol. Or buy it what ever you like.
I wonder if the front just looks so gay on that angle?

as much as i hate the front bar and the fact it doesn't match any of the original lines well, if the rear wing was ditched and the car wasn't white (maybe black/silver two tone) i think it could look pretty tough.

Took the soarer I'm buying for a little spin today, mz21 with a fresh r154.
would have to say, WOW!
now i've been driving a 1.8l Astina for quite a while so the 7m power certainly put a grin on my face, think i need to get a little more used to the clutch (stalled it a few times lol) also might need to start pumping more iron if i'm going to be able to shift it quickly, those r154s are a pretty hefty shift .

Hey all,
Do i need to repost mr plow hmmmmmm?
I'd be interested in the doluck, but think i should be spending the money on the engine. how solidly do these kits bolt on when it comes to the car? i have seen some hell shonky jobs... 2 philliphead screws for the front...? wtf?
stock kit sounds interesting, i'd quite seriously consider skirts and rear. but again... engine comes first. which makes me sad in the face - miss out on group discount.
ahwell such is life
