Since i am poor and after my 1/4 run getting a little egar for more power (also mine is starting to smoke bad under heavy accel). I may just go the cheapest and easiest solution. Do the 1G-GEU and 1G-GTE share the same mounts? and are they different then the M-TEU mounts?
My question is that if i take out the 1G-GEU and put in a 1G-GTE it is going to be very easy and i could do it myself? I have done an engine swap before and if it is all the same mounts it wouldn't really be that hard to do i feel. Also does anyone know if the ECU runs the touch panel climate control as well? I thought i followed some wires down there. does this mean i will have to run both ECU's if i want to keep touch panel stuff?

isn't wiring easy if you get a half cut? cause you just throw in the new loom. also does it fit my box, or will the new box fit my tail shaft?
Also a problem that has concerned me for a while. where do people jack up there old school cars? are there any mount points?

i have owned a few commodores in my younger days. There diff and rear axle is a large solid bar. the soarer is not, thats why i have been scarer to jack the diff cause it just doesn't look as strong. Is it because the soarer's have IRS or something. i have a hell of a time trying to find places to put my axle stands. also i crushed flat the bar that goes under the front seat, just behind the wheel arch. THAT IS NOT A JACK POINT lol

jack it up from the centre part of the diff, i.e. where the housing is, it is hardened steel and meant for jacking up the car with a conventional rolling jack, works fine for me, ive never dented or broken anything jacking it up from there, obviously you wouldnt jack it up from the axels

Axle stands can go on the rear wishbones/trailing arms if you aren't working on the rear suspension, or on the main chassis rails if you are working on the rear suspension.

I just tried to get my friend to order me some king spings (just asked for the lowers possible they make) for my gz20 soarer, and he just called and said he cant find any for it. So do u order them for an ma70 or something? or is there a part number that he just cant find. Can anyone tell me what i need to know to order new kings for my car?

they arent very low tho...not low at all
if you want lower call industrial springs down here in SA as they can do them to whatever height and spring rate you want

Indian: yep saw the pic, thats why im getting them.
Mr 1jz: Have been browsing there, very temped by these:
17" rims
17x8 +14 front 5x114.3
17x9 +17 rear 5x114.3
slight gutter rash, no caps
$550
Ref#- WS172-550
Due- To Be Advised
but now i wonder if they will fit under the guards, anyone care to comment. Also shipping is a cost to consider. + no tyres and 17" while my current rims have new tyres.

+14 and +17 are most definately not what you want.
It will put major stress on the bearings and increase track but a large amount over factory.

Hahaha yeah my old rims were 38mm and the back was ok but the front were sticking out , don’t get those rims , U NEED 45mm OR 50mm OR SOMETHING IN BETWEEN with a 7inch wide wheel , u might get away with a 8 inch wide wheel in the back but fronts need to be 7 inch wide if ur using 45mm offset ------ u get the drift
NOTHING LOWER THAN 45mm (u can get plenty of 38mm wheels and the later model soarer can run on 38mm wheels as they have wider wheel arches to accommodate them , so when ur mentioning which car tell them it’s the older model soarer, if u can show them the car its better) anything smaller and the wheels will stick out the guards in the front the back will be ok

saw a 1992 model (allegedly) GZ20 soarer GT, black with silver bottom twotone, PERFECT condition paint, factory manual, 220,000km, interior was PERFECT, boost controller fitted, LSD, this thing looked awesome.
Pulled over to have a look at it (it was in a car yard) and spoke to the guy about it... he proceeded to tell me that it put out 260kw at the rear wheels on stock boost
AWESOME looking car though.... they wanted $9,900 for it but!!
man, that car looked so hot.
Just spurs me on to doing the mods for my car even more, shame everything else is funnelling away my month but.

Need urgent help guys

AFAIK, u can make the w58 fit, you will need a bellhousing to suit. The gearbox X memeber supplied will be of no use unless it came out of a soarer, unless what it came from uses the same x member(but i highly doubt that)

Okies on another note my car has started to smoke pretty bad (i have posted this in another thread as well). I go through alot of oil and when i punch it it gets real foggy behind me.
I guess this means that i had stuffed O rings or something? (again i am lacking a bit of knowledge. I have been told that to fix it you will need to pull off the heads, rip alot of crap out replace the O rings and put it all back in.
However i have also been told that the 1G-GTE shares the same bottom end as the 1G-GEU and if i need to remove the heads i may as well put on 1G-GTE ones and TT the car right? it would save me doing things twice?

Well, it puts me back into the seat. Boost is around 2000'ish, but I've not really watched when it does come on.
With a S-AFCII and S-ITC it was making 200hp at the wheels (I think stock is 110hp?), but on the dyno it was running out of fuel. I bought 440cc 7M-GTE injectors but I'm not using them now because of the 1JZ swap.
I've also blown the head gasket now, water in the oil and cylinders firing into each other.
I don't know if I'll be selling all the 1G stuff or keeping it and putting it in something like an unlicensed track car or beach buggy.
