am interested in this too. I would be keen to spend $2K maybe $3k on my 4AGE. I looked on the syd roller club site but haven't found alot yet. will keep looking though.
wonder if you would get more value for money by adding a turbo or blower??

Turboing the NA motor is not recommended - going for the supercharged version is the better option. I don't know if it can be done effectively for 3K.

.... its not recommended, but i did it Would certainly cost over $4k using all second hand cheapie parts!!
For the supercharged conversion, you would want to budget $4-5 to do EVERYTHING yourself.
For someone to do it for you (there are people here on the forums willing to help), then add another $1500-2000.

I already have an exhaust, so cams, head work and computer would work out a little cheaper?

Definately keep a contingency fund for conversion hehe.
Extras like getting radiator/heater core fixed up, idler bearing, timing belt, waterpump, perhaps main bearing seals or gearbox seals, driveshaft boot & grease replacement, clutch kit, oils etc can add up big time...
Add to that an engine hoist, other tools for the job and failed university subjects and you can get quite expensive

all this info would be the same for a 4age sprinter? Is there much gain available from the 16? Say, i got Cams, gears, higher compression (HG), ECU, Headers, 2.5" exhaust, what would my gains be?

I am not sure if this is all correct but this site seems to give a lot of info. I would like to do what this guy says, am curious what the price would be.
