Clutch problems on an AE102r Wed, 13 April 2005 13:35 Go to next message
Hi forum guys and girls, ive got an issue with my clutch in my AE102r 7afe, sometimes it likes to change the friction point for no particular reason, and when this happens, the pedal freeplay also changes as well. Does anyone know what the problem is or experienced any problems like it before, and more importantly how to fix it lol... Thanks

possibly, the freeplay rod is not adjusted properly holding the piston over the expansion port

when initally driving its normal but as soon as fluid heats up and cant get to the reservoir, fluid will push against the other way, your friction point will be higher and you will feel pedal real tight. bad enough, the clutch will drag and slip

to fix it just loosen up the rod abit at a time and test drive it

it is quite possible there is air passing by the slavecylinder rod and changing the position of were it engages and disengages, i had that problem in one of my cars, and all it needed was a new rod iin the slave cylinder with a new seal on it
