Does anyone have some technical information on the inner workings of a typical Toyota AFM ?
I particularly want to find out all the inputs and outputs and how the ECU uses them.
Thanks.

Thanks guys - I will look around.
I just took my AFM apart and found 7 pins inside the thing but only 6 pins in the loom plug.
Then I check the part numbers for the millionth time and I have the correct AFM for my car.
Is there a dummy AFM pin in these things ? Mine has one of two black wires plugged into it.......

it actually ISNT that simple...
its not just a simple linear increase like youd expect with a potentiometer or something. its more like a recurring step function, and near bloody impossible to interfer with in any meaningful way

Thanks Ed,
This is what I found out via Google and Autoshop 101.
I also checked why I had 7 pins in the AFM and only 6 in the loom plug, and that is normal for a GZE motor.
Back to the drawing board for the richness problem then !
