I am curious to know if anyone knows differences between these two motors.

I know they are both 1988cc EFI DOHC 24-valve 6-cyl. I am also aware that the 1G-GTE is turbo and the 1G-GEU is not. but besides that i know nothing. Will the both use the same gear box, engine mounts and bottom end (like can i swap 1G-GTE heads and all the turbo gear onto a 1G-GEU and swap the ECU and it will run)?

thanks

Compression ratio will be lower in the 1ggte, and even lower in the 1ggze.

Cams will probably vary between the motors too.

As could intake/exhaust manifolds.

Apart from that, all the same.

	read the toymods articles section

it explains how the codes work

T stands for turbo etc.

	specifically read the tech notes!

ok, the cams will be different, the comp. ratio is different as a result of the different heahds as wells as the different pistons.

ok the main reason i wish to know this is because i can most probably get my hands on a 1G-GTE motor with an unwell bottom. can i just drop most of the 1G-GTE onto the top of my 1G-GEU, like cams ect and it will run fine??? Because compression is govened by the heads arn't they? and maybe the pistons.

Compression is goverend by the pistons.

To run the 1ggte properly, you'll need the 1ggte ecu.
