I am going to upgrade the front brakes on my KE25 and was hoping for some suggestions.

I currently have the stock 9" solid discs and was thinking of throwing in the '76 RA23 Celica front struts with 10" discs.

Has anyone done this or any other conversion before? Do they fit without too much hassle Mad or would I be better going to a vented disc?

Any comments would be great.

Cheers

G Very Happy

Hi. Iam currently upgrading my struts in my KE20 and am using RA60 struts & brakes. You have to remove & use the existing ke25 sping seats onto the ra60 strut leg or use coil-overs. To get enough travel in your shock when lowered I've been told you can put in ae82 or ae92 inserts but have put a spacer in the bottom of the strut leg? The struts will give you a 258mm vented disc.
Hope this is a help
Regards Chris

Finally someone else who has an old corolla. Surprised

I will get some prices tomorrow hopefully not too much $$$, I could get the whole RA23 strut for $65 a side. Do you know if the stud spacing on the RA60 is the same as the rolla? I think the KE25 is 4 x 110 where the celicas are 4 x 114.3 which makes it a bit more of a hassle with rims.

Thanks

G

rollas are a good power to weight combo with a twin-cam fitted I don't know way more people haven't done the conversions. Yes they are a different stud patern(4-114.3)the ke-10 to 25 had the smaller 4-100 & smaller stub axle any rolla & all celicas after this are the same 4-114.3.New rims required,I paid $50 a side for the ra60

Good luck

Chris

Do you know of anyway to change the stud pattern of the rears to be 114.3 so I wont have any grief if I get a flat and for ease of buying new rims?

Depending on what engine your running ie:twin-cam your diff won't last long anyway, so get yourself a celica one or try to source a sprinter rear end. I'm running a 4.3:1 disc brake spinter r/end. You maybe able to remove your axles & get them re-drilled?, but it come down to the strength of your diff & the power your trying to put through it

Thanks for all your help.

Now off to the wreckers I suppose.

By the way I've currently got a boat anchor recon 4K with Extractors. Embarassed I only wish the rolla had enough power to bust the diff Evil or Very Mad

The 4AGE is awaiting install due to lack of time. (Excuses, Excuses).

Thanks again
