Patience, patience.

Hi,
Yeah, that would probably have been me. Black stripes down the side, MA61 wheels, oil cooler out the front, shopping list by the door? I know, I suck.
As for the motor, it's probably good you sold it to me. The ring lands on piston four had disintegrated and rings were consequently broken in several pieces. Also the main bearings were badly worn. You had planned to install it as-is, didn't you?

I bought mine second-hand but unused from a guy in WA. Was like $300-400? He said it cost him like eleventy billion dollars to have imported from the US though, exchange rate, duty, etc. etc.
http://www.moroso.com/catalog/categorydisplay.asp? catcode=11114
The stock 2T-G was unremarkable; no windage tray, no sump baffle. I've lost one 2T-G and one 18R-G to oil starvation in the mountain roads east of Melbourne. This motor I want to be more durable.

With some mods to the lower control arms, you can practically bolt in S13 suspension and brakes into your KE.
You need to use the bush end of the KE lower control arm and weld it to the ball joint end of the S13 control arm. Everything else bolts up
You can find cheap S13 front coilovers everywhere and SR brakes are wayy bigger than you'll ever need.
sorry it aint toyota but it works!

Update:
Turns out the last motor had 87mm TOMS pistons, baffled sump, etc. in it. Engine parts now all over the motor shop getting prepped for reassembly of new motor.
Target date: 10 September, for the Melbourne dyno day for testing.

More pics for those interested;
Note the gloves in the background of the pic, and my hands...
Safety first kiddies! No shirt, no shoes, car is supported by a block and tackle...
Hope this doesn't offend ~ more a capitalisation on a coincidental thought than a planned mock up.
The car everyone had been nagging about. Now lower and meaner (for a Corolla lol), plus stickerz bro... fully hektik.
My super helpful GF, who wouldn't love her? Also 4K boat anchor coming out. She's got the right idea I reckon.

Motor is at the shop;
Block: tank, bore and hone 4.00mm over (89mm), surface.
Crank: linish mains, grind big ends .025" U/S
Conrods: shot peen, resize, ARP conrod bolts
Balanced end over end with pulley, flywheel, clutch cover, and of the all above.
Lightened flywheel.
New ACL cromoly rings.
New genuine Toyota rod bearings.
New ACL main bearings and thrust washers.
Still gotta get the 304/288 cams ground up.
As for induction, it turns out some clown took my money for 44PHH Mikuni Solex carbs, and inside the box posted me 40PPHs. Good style there. Maybe I could throw my old 40s on, get some refund action, and save for DCOE throttle bodies? Yeah, maybe.
New Cibie driving lights, Sparco seat and Sabelt harness, steering wheel, dash and Omori instruments, rear dampers and Whiteline stabilisers are fitted.
Anyone who wants to make up some seat brackets is highly recommended to invest in $15 worth of a metre or two of 2" 5mm plate steel and a bench vice rather than shelling out $400 at a motorsport shop for the more elegant equivilent. The guys here must be getting sick of me... I keep rolling up there asking about stuff while they're trying to build Clubmans and so forth with every intention of employing their services until I hear the damage, then choke and return home to nut it out myself for 1/50th the price. Maybe I'm not in their preferred target market.
Inviting offers for the loan of a torque wrench for a couple of days sometime in the next month. seriously. Will repay generosity with beer or manual labour.

Hi,
You need to change the selectors inside the gearbox case to suit the extension housing used, so disassembly and reassembly of the box. But that's all, and with a complete T50 of each variety (parts donor can be crap box) it's pretty easy.

Cams are getting ground now. Turns out the TRD 304/288 profiles have only .395" lift, so went to another profile with 300/300 and approx .430" lift.
New plan; fuel injection. Details soon.
