Supercharger has an electromagnetic clutch. In the factory application this clutch is controlled by the ECU in response to throttle input, etc.

CT20 turbo isn't much chop.

since the ct20 turbos are not much chop as u put it, does this make them easier/cheaper to obtain??

thanx again

p.s i only want maximum of 5psi boost

so i can run a supercharger off a switch to turn it on and off??

running a SC (like the 4agze or 1ggze) would also entail the ABV (air Bypass valve) and programable ecu to turn off/on the SC as well enabling the ABV when required. plus you'd have all manner of fabricated bracketry and piping. ABV is used to bypass the SC when you're not under boost.

Don't forget that going boosted SC or turbo would entail larger injectors and ECU. your factory hardware will not be up to the task of feeding and controlling a boosted engine.

probably (slightly) easier to go turbo, your main costs would be:
zorst manifold & dump
turbo
slightly larger injectors
programable ECU

get a cheap T25 turbo (ex RB20DET or similar) from ebay or similar - will cost you between $200-400. consdering you're only after 5psi, then a CT20 might do the job anyway.

manifold & dump from someone like exotic exhausts - $500-600

injectors - $100-150

ECU - pick a number between $500 and $1500

ann another $1k for things to fix/upgrade/improve while you're there.

An RB20 turbo is cheap enough to be a consumable item, plus it's a T3 flange making replacements easy to find and attach to the manifold.

hmmm. so the abv just puts the air away from the intake wen off boost??

would it be worth puttin a forced induction setup on??

like say i can get 120hp atw do i really need more??

120hp:900kgs = a pretty good ratio

idk, laterdays, thanx for the help

the ABV bypasses the supercharger so air flows straight from the throttle body to the intake instead of thru the charger.

turbo is always fun - but never cheap - how much fun do you want to spend?
