Small amount of water ontop of overflow bottle Mon, 18 April 2005 04:49 Go to next message
I just changed the lid on my overflow bottle, because we thought it was not sealing properly and causing a small amount of water to leak out the top.

The new lid feels tighter, but it appears to be doing it still. Checking the bottle after a drive reveals a small amount of coolant ontop of the bottle. Note: None is comming out of the overflow line.

What could be causing this? Is it still not sealing properly? Or could it have somthing to do with my radiator cap?

as far as i know you dont need a good seal on the oevrflow bottle. have you filled it right up if so theres your problem there shouldnt be any pressure in there unless the radiator pops up which i doubt unless you have a broken radiator cap
