na, turbo, supercharged, aw11, sw20?
silvia is fully sik dorifto.
aw11 makes a great cut down racer.
sw20 is a horny little bitch, and with a turbo loads of fun (& if you get the updated model, even better round corners)

i personally don't like the look of the s14, it's just... wierd. be it a 4A or 3S powered mr2, it's going to look good and have a very competant engine, and they look cool no matter what model
you're asking on a toyota forum, we're all going to say go the MR2

depends
if he wants a drifter or cheap straight line power, s14 is the go. there are about fifty gazillion performance parts available for the sr20. 3s is much harder to find cheap mods for. both are bloody tough 4-cyls. Just mr2 is better built and better set up for racing. s14 can seat more than 2 people and is heinously ugly.

Hi,
If you like go-kart handling, try test driving an AW11. I've owned a couple aw11 mr2s (still got one), and driven many cars from mr2 turbo (2nd gen), Porsche Boxter to a Honda NSX and would say that a well sorted aw11 ranks pretty well up there for a sport driving feel and satisfaction. I know people who drive more expensive sports cars are always impressed by the handling and feedback of the mr2...don't know a lot about s14s except SR20's always seems to be synonomous with drifting and horsepower nuts....
Cheers, Nick

16k should get u a nice 91 or 92 sw20 turbo most of them are targa top as well which is a nice bonus in summer. dont think you'll get the gen 3 93+ model tho.
the only things to worry about with the mr2 are these
1) repairs/ services are going to be more expensive that a FR car, simly cos the engine is a bitch to get access to.
2) check your ac compressor, as the turbos tend to cook em.
3) fuel consumption is a bit of a pig, about 12l/100km for "spirited" city driving
4) its only got two seats
5) you cant really get a fully sik heketic stereo system in there as theres just no room
6) performance mods are not as easy to find and are more expensive because of this.
7) they are starting to get bit old.
But the good far out ways all of those negatives, just wait till u drive one....thru the hills.
