I have looked at the wiring diagrams of a 90 7MGTE but am pretty sure they are different to the 7MGE 1986.5. I am wondering where the two wires connected to the VSV run. My heater doesnt work but there is no signal getting to the vsv so i need to figure out where it gets signal from in order to fix. All help appreciated

edit: no one knows the answer to this?

i have by passed the vsv and replaced the heater tap with a new one. there is hot water passing though the tap into the fire wall and back out into the engine but no hot air out of the vents?

there is 2 wires to the heater tap solenoid


black with yellow

and a yellow

the yellow is 12 volts ign

the black and yellow is an earth when u select hot on the heater controls


so go thru the wires that come from the heater with ignition on slide it from hot to cold then hot

and u should get an earth signal when u slide it to hot

oh no, there is 12 volts at the yellow wire but nothing at the black one, no matter where i set the temp control

the yellow one runs to the control unit but where does the black one run too.

i also have to address the other problem that even with the tap opened manually there is no hot air coming out of the vents Sad

ideas?

yellow is 12 v ign it comes from a wire under dash

it also supplies 12 v to speedo sensor and rev

so it doesnt come from heater area

black/yellow goes to a wire in th eheater section

are all the servo motors controlled by the control unit.

Also does anyone have the 7MGE 86 wiring diagram they could possibly scan for me. Or does someone know where i can buy the manual from.

OK have half of my dash out now and am still having problems with air con and heater. pulled area out with air con condenser out and cleaned. has good air flow though the system but i can see the door that opens to let the air go though the heater core and i can not get it to open.

Any ideas?
