 Whats a gearbox worth?

More specifically,
A gearbox from a Camry V6, 5 Speed MT.
Some scary prices that wreckers are quoting me.....
What about the MR2 Turbo boxes?
The MR2 boxes go for about $600? Is this correct?
please post or pm me your experiences.
Also please let me know if you can put me in touch with someone that has either of these boxes at a reasonable price.

Got my E153, Camry version, for $550 incl GST. This was a fully rebuilt/recoed gearbox, ready to go. Got it from Toyparts in Clayton, Victoria. I know he doesn't have anymore left..but he gets shipments in regularly.
