DOG BOX(PAR GEARSET)
Strait cut 1st to 5th
Stuffed reverse idler &imput shaft
Cost around $3000 to fix
Worth about $6000 to buy used
$550 neg...........
Housing not included.Can use original one anyway.

actually i think you will find,the word 'DOG' has nothing to do with the cut of the gear at all,a gear can be heli cut and still have 'DOG RINGS',the type of engagement is either 'DOG or SYNCROMESH' it all depends on how the set is ordered or manufactured.

Yes you are correct about the dog meaning the type of engagement (though this one is a straight cut).
Still doesn't mean that its a box for sale.
If the title doesn't get changed by the author before the weekend, I'll change it myself.
Still doesn't mean I'm not interested as I'm building a WRX engined Leone at the moment.

 I guess you'll last long (until the wagonist (moderator) gets back) here with that attitude. What has been posted here is technically correct.
1. Dog engagement does not directly relate to the cut on the gears.
2. A gearset with no housing is not a gearbox.

i think a 2 month probabtion is a bit harsh.
i met this guy on the cressida cruise on the central coast.
he is a good kid, any one would get angry if someone came on their for sale thread with an intimdating manner that wagonist did. not all forum members are full blown mechanics with expert knowledge of gearboxes. so i think its a bit harsh. a warning would have been suffice.

Well, I came on here expecting a full gearbox with "DOG" engagemnet gears to be for sale?!? Must admit the shine left the thread when I quickly realised it was not a complete gearbox for sale.
