Does anybody know how to do it ?
I got a lead with my graphics card that plugs into the graphics card and into the VIDEO socket on my TV.
The picture will show up on the TV untill windows is fully loaded then it will disapear.

install the drivers that came with said card.
configure it to NTSC/PAL and all the rest of that jazz,
ill take this opportunity to tell you that TV-Out DOES NOT work with linux, well, at least with redhat 9.0.

You have to set windows to a dual screen output.

in order to facilitate correct aspect ratios for the general viewing public...
i have taken a screenshot and it can be found here:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~asterix/screen1.JPG
i wont display it in the thread because it will throw everything out
thats basically the menu you need to be in if you own an nVidia card. there'll probably be another option on the list on the right...
if you really want, ill walk you through it, i occasionally use dual screen when im watching movies, clips, videos, pr0n etc.

on mine you just need to right click desktop>> properties>> Tab on far right (whatever its called)>> enable second monitor (but I expect that you have already gotten this far)
You can double click monitor 2 to set its properties, you need to set it to TV (I'm not sure if you need to set the refresh rate ie. PAL or NTSC, this may be why the colour is funny)...
I have an ATI card btw...

yeah man, i couldnt give 2 shits about performance, as long as the thing works...
kinda defeats the point of having suh a "decent" card though...

oh yeah, what he said, your viewing NTSC on a PAL TV, hence its greyscale...
change the TV to NTSC or the computer output to PAL
it was easier for me to change the TV because it has that option

If you want to watch TV, buy a TV
if you want to use the computer, buy a moniter
most TVs ive seen that are digital do around 1024x768, and they are huge and expencive
A moniter big enough to watch TV on is expencive
They are for 2 different things, dont forget that.. you can use a TV as a moniter if u want to wear glasses for the rest of ur life
But lots of LCDs now come with TV tuner addins, so if u want both they would be the way to go

The DPI and dot pitch on monitors is much better than on a television. As someone else said before... if you want a monitor, buy a monitor as you won't get the res you want out of a TV unless you sell your kidneys
