Bearings r shot, rebuild or new motor? Wed, 20 April 2005 05:58 Go to next message
Hey fellaz.

I just bought a supra and i think the bearings r shot coz it makes a loud rattling sound when the engine is goin.

My question is which option is the best at this point: rebuild? swap for a new 7m? or get a 1jz conversion? the only factor here is cost.. i'm not the silver spoon type so the cheapest option is the best, i dont care about power or whatever, power can always be bolted on Very Happy

Maybe rebuild the engine myself? Its got a MHG that i wouldnt like to throw away Razz

if it is only the bottom end barings then pull the motor out take off the sump and replace the barings no need to touch the hg unless you want to do rings (i would do personaly while its out) get the crank machined too
