Im asking for some help on behalf of my dad's surf. It is the imported 1990 2.4 turbo desiel auto version, the problem is that the park brake light wont turn off, he's pulled every thing apart played with the button that turns it on, checked all wheels and brakes and it still wont go away...
any thoughts?

Have you checked the sensor on the brake fluid reservoir?
Japan doesn't require their cars to have a separate brake fluid level warning light and park brake light so they're usually combined as one.
I can't remember if the light is supposed to go on when that sensor is unplugged or not, though it would be safer to have it come on if the circuit is broken.
By the sounds of it, you've probably got a broken wire or a loose plug somewhere.
