1jz problems

had dramas a few weeks back with odd sparking in 1jz
seems to have subsided with better earthing of wires and what not.
car now runs, but misses through out the rev range, wont rev over 3500ish
giant plumes of fuel smoke when reving above 2K
its coughs, splutters, farts and wont rev.
plugs come out black as sin after liek 10 mins of idleing and a few revs
ive reset the ecu to no success, replaced plugs, havent replaced coils yet.
any ideas of whast could be the cause of the massive overfueling? i cant locate any vac leaks
somepeopel have thrown up ideas of O2 sensor, water temp sensor, map sensor...

Is the loom hooked up to the check engine light?
If so run a diagnostic.

Sounds like the ECU has logged a major error, and is running in limp mode and pumping MASSES of fuel into the engine to avoid a problem...
Maybe the AFM is fuxored and the ECU knows it?
Check for diagnostic codes...

afm would be great if 1jzs ran an afm (I'm assuming it's the twin turbo?)
I had a similar problem with my 1j, but it was running aftermarket ecu. the problem was caused by the cam sensor being reverse wired.
could also be caused by incorrectly gapped plugs (should be 0.8mm)
is the car a stock fitted 1jz?

Pull out all 6 plugs, sound like maybe a few aren't firing.
Then again, when one of my coils stopped working (ie, 4cyls died)
All that happened was that it sounded like a diesel, had no power, and the cat were glowing after about 2mins.
There was no black smoke though...
